Privacy Policy

Contri is an Android group expense coordination app for India. It is operated by Contri Money Labs. Our website is contri.money.

• Account and profile information - your name or display name, email address, authentication identifiers, user ID, and basic Google profile information when you sign in with Google.
• Authentication and security data - OTP verification records and security or rate-limit metadata where needed to protect the service.
• Group and expense data - group names, participant or guest names, expenses, descriptions or notes, split data, balances, settlement records, and activity.
• Optional payment handoff data - your UPI ID if you add it in profile/settings or when needed for a settlement handoff.
• App, device, and service data - FCM token for notifications, Firebase Analytics events, diagnostics, and logs needed for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.

Contri does not collect bank account details, card numbers, UPI PINs, UPI app credentials, or payment passwords.

The active MVP does not collect phone numbers, contacts, phonebook data, date of birth, age, or profile photos.

• Authenticate users and help protect accounts.
• Operate groups, guests, expenses, equal splits, and balances.
• Suggest settlement transfers based on data entered by users.
• Open UPI handoff links and support public settlement links.
• Send service notifications and important account messages.
• Prevent abuse, secure the service, and improve reliability.

We do not sell your personal data.

Contri is not a bank, wallet, NBFC, payment processor, escrow service, or payment gateway.

When you choose Pay via UPI, Contri opens a UPI handoff link in a third-party UPI app. The payment happens in that app and is governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.

Contri does not process, verify, reverse, refund, or guarantee payments. Mark as paid is manually confirmed by users and may not equal bank or UPI app confirmation.

• With group members - group participants can see the group, expense, split, balance, settlement, and activity information needed for that group.
• With settlement-link recipients - public settlement links expose only limited one-transfer information, such as group name, payer name, receiver name, amount, payment handoff details, and optional note.
• With service providers - Firebase, Supabase, Resend, and Google Cloud Run help us operate authentication, notifications, analytics, email delivery, database, and hosting.
• For legal and safety reasons - when required by law or needed to protect users, Contri, or the service.

We use HTTPS, authentication, access controls, Row-Level Security where applicable, rate limiting, and logs needed to protect the service.

Some financial history may be retained or anonymized where needed to keep group expense and settlement records accurate for other participants, comply with law, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse.

You can delete your account in the Contri app from Profile or Settings. You can also request deletion by email from your registered email address.

Contri is not intended for users under 18 unless permitted with appropriate parental or guardian consent where required.

Contri uses third-party services including Firebase, Supabase, Resend, Google Cloud Run, Firebase Analytics, and third-party UPI apps selected by users.

We may update this policy as Contri changes. When we do, we will update the Last updated date on this page.
