These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Contri, an Android group expense coordination app for India operated by Contri Money Labs.
1. The Service
Contri helps groups record shared expenses, calculate equal splits, show balances, open UPI handoff links, create limited settlement links, and manually mark settlements as paid.
Contri is a coordination tool. It is not a bank, wallet, NBFC, payment processor, escrow service, or payment gateway.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of using the service. If you are under 18, you may use Contri only with appropriate parental or guardian consent where required.
3. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate account, group, expense, and UPI details.
- Only add guests or members with appropriate consent.
- Share settlement links responsibly.
- Check settlement calculations before paying or marking a transfer as paid.
- Resolve real-world payment questions or disputes directly with the relevant group members.
4. Payments and UPI Handoff
Contri does not hold, move, process, verify, reverse, refund, or guarantee money. UPI handoff opens a third-party UPI app selected by the user, and that app is governed by its own terms.
Mark as paid is user-confirmed inside Contri. It may not equal bank, UPI, or payment-app confirmation.
5. Settlement Suggestions
Settlement suggestions are based on group, expense, participant, and payment data entered by users. Users remain responsible for checking the amount, payer, receiver, and UPI details before taking action.
6. Acceptable Use
You must not misuse Contri. This includes:
- Fraud, harassment, illegal activity, or spam.
- Impersonation or unauthorized account access.
- Abusive or misleading settlement links.
- Misuse of another person's data.
- Attempts to disrupt, scrape, or bypass the service.
7. Data and Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data Contri collects and how it is used.
8. Availability
We work to keep Contri reliable, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available. Contri is provided as-is to the extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Contri Money Labs is not liable for payment failures, incorrect user-entered information, disputes between group members, third-party UPI app issues, or indirect losses arising from use of the service.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Contri changes. When we do, we will update the Last updated date on this page.
